Our opinion on Subaru Impreza WRX 5DR
The Subaru Impreza WRX’s amazing pace comes courtesy of a turbocharged 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. There's 296bhp on the STI and 230bhp on the standard to rocket you forward as quickly as some supercars, and you can hit 60mph from standstill in a 5.2 seconds on the STI and just over 6 for the standard WRX. However you still have to get the car to work hard, as the acceleration is a bit flat until the Turbo fully kicks in.
Thanks to the four-wheel-drive system, the Subaru Impreza WRX grips wonderfully even if the conditions are wet or dry. The steering isn't as responsive as hoped, and the Subaru Impreza WRX leans a lot more than you might think when pushed hard.
